A book consists of a cover, an introduction, a body, and a climax. It includes characters, a plot, and a story line. What does this have to do with Interior Design? Great interior design has all the elements of a great book.
A great book will draw you in. It will captivate you. It will make you want to keep reading. A good book needs a great introduction. How many times have you started a book but couldn't get past the first chapter? The introduction to your home begins in the entry. Does your entry draw you in, does it entice you? Or do you dread what is waiting for you in the next room?
The body of a book develops the characters. It tells you who they are, what they are doing, and the challenges they face. The body of your home includes all the rooms in your home. What story do these rooms tell about you?
The climax consists of all of the events in the story line coming together. A good book will keep you in suspense and you will not be able to put it down till you reach the end. Mackay Interiors wants to help you create rooms that are so stunning that you can’t wait to see what is beyond the next door!
The exterior of your home is the "cover" and is the first impression for anyone driving by or coming to visit. We all know "you shouldn't judge a book by its cover." However, next time you are at the library pay attention to the first book you pick up. I guarantee it won't be the one that is covered in dust with a plain brown cover!
